At the age of 16, Maximila  “Max” Imali from Ngong, Kenya, was quickly recognized for her athletic talent. With the support of an encouraging coach and her loving family, she began training in the 400 and 800 meter, and competing locally in Kenya.

By 2014, she had earned a spot in the World Juniors Championships in Oregon,
and gained international recognition.

And the honours did not stop there…

Honours

  • African Championships Silver Medalist (Mauritius, 2022)
  • Commonwealth Games Finalist (Gold Coast, 2018)
  • Kenyan National Champion (2017, 2018, 2019, 2022)

Personal Bests:

  • Women’s 100 Metres: 11.19
  • Women’s 200 Metres: 23.12
  • Women’s 400 Metres: 51.18

Despite these feats, Max has now been deemed ineligible for international competition.
